da realsbet: Leeds United hold an advantage in the late transfer race for one of the most in-demand targets in the English top flight.

Leeds want to sign striker before the deadline

da bet esporte: The winter window has been quiet for Leeds, as has often been the case in recent years. Facundo Buonanotte joined the club on loan from Brighton and whilst the Whites have been linked to a number of other incomings, they are yet to bolster elsewhere in their squad.

Manager Daniel Farke, who oversaw a 1-1 draw away at Everton in his latest match, was not drawn into discussing his side’s transfer matters after the game, saying, as per Beren Cross of The Athletic: “Not the time to talk about transfers straight after the game. This group had proved they had enough to win tonight. Hope we have good news from injuries to (Jaka) Bijol and (Gabriel) Gudmundsson, then we have more than enough to stay in this league.”

Regardless of Farke’s comments, Leeds have, for some time, been pursuing the signature of Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have already knocked back a bid from the Whites, who appear keen to recruit depth for their forward line. Now, David Ornstein of The Athletic has provided an update on the striker’s future.

Strand Larsen "likes idea" of moving to Elland Road

Much of Strand Larsen’s reputation is not based on this season. The Norwegian international has just one Premier League goal in 21 appearances, but has been playing in a Wolves side that have endured a turgid campaign. Last season, surrounded by players of quality such as Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri, Strand Larsen recorded 18 goal contributions in 35 league games.

Though other clubs have shown an interest, Leeds appear best-placed to push for Strand Larsen. Writing in the latest Transfer DealSheet, Ornstein stated:

Since switching to a back three against Manchester City at the end of November, Farke has often utilised two forwards.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a fixture for the Whites and has been deployed alongside Noah Okafor, who is naturally a winger, Lukas Nmecha and Brenden Aaronson, with the latter playing as something between a 10 and a second striker. Otherwise, though, the Whites are light on striking options.

In Strand Larsen, who earns £95,000 per week, Leeds would be signing a proven Premier League goalscorer who would be an injection of quality as they look to avoid the drop. He and Calvert-Lewin could become one of the division’s best strike partnerships, should the Norwegian rediscover his form from last season.

The club could be encouraged to continue pushing for a deal, despite interest from the likes of Crystal Palace, given Strand Larsen’s reported preferences.

Wolves may well be reluctant to part ways with the 25-year-old, who only signed a new contract in the summer. As Ornstein reported, however, the club’s “resolve will likely be put to the test” ahead of the transfer deadline on the 2nd February.
